✴ An update with a hint of my worst nightmare ✴

We haven't really been in school much this week due to work experience and the strike but we are still very busy... On Wednsday we had our last day of work experience for our first placement. I was working in ABsolutely FABulous flowers. http://www.abfabflowers.ie/ Which is a florist and giftware shop. I really enjoyed my time there it was so fun and great business with everything from hats to flowers to candles. I'm really looking forward to my next placement.

Today we had the annual prefect decommissioning service. As we are in Ty now I knew some of the new 5th year prefects who you used to my in my year so it was so strange seeing them wearing the prefect badge time flies so fast I still feel like I'm in first year sometimes. It's always funny hearing the stories of the prefect training night... I hope I get the role of prefect next year :)

We also have a maths trip tomorrow (bad) and we will be gone for the whole school day (good). Although maths isn't really my thing well it's more like my enemy... But its more about team work tomorrow so I'm  looking forward to it as it will good fun out in the countryside and then of course the singing on the bus and we get to go to blanchardstown shopping centre for lunch so thats a plus right ;)

I have also joined the Web committee at school Im looking forward to seeing the new website up and running :) Also we have been working on our plays in English and we have to perform them in front of the whole year on Tuesday so I'm very nervous :/ But hopefully it goes well...

❤Fashion Show❤

strut strut strut {Emma ;)}

This past week the Tys have been very busy... As St Wolstans was hosting a fashion show {2014 Fashion Extravaganza}  in Celbridge Manor Hotel! On Tuesday Some of us went down to Celbridge Manor with Mrs leonard to paint the stage.Gemma accidently jumped into a big bucket of black paint when getting down from the stage. I was right beside her and It was so funny especially when she had to wear a black plastic bag over her legs {sorry Gemma} But Mrs Leonards reaction was hilarious...

Then onto the actual fashion show I was playing guitar with some other girls for the Christmas Carol Act. We had to wear christmas jumpers so of course I wore my Rudolph jumper which lights up yes and plays music {slayyyy}  Michalea and I couldn't stop laughing on stage bt its grand becasue it was supposed to be happy and festive I guess ;)
I was also Modeling for Emilys Michaelas Serenas and Emmas Mini Company Group 'Seem' (sneaky promotion in there) (thank me later) which is a jewellery company. We had to practice a lot as the routine kept getting changed but ah well. I didn't fall over so I'm happy!

The mini group I'm in (Casevana) were selling as well and we did really well so that was good too ;)

There were lots of other acts and entertainment as well like Irish dancing ballet debs and clothes From lots of different shops and of course the teachers dance {nice wigs :)} Over all the experience was realy fun as we were all putting are makeup on and laughing backstage.. them snapchats Michalea :P

I will put some photos in later ;)

♕Fancy Unicorn ♕

This week we have been preparing for the fashion show which is next week in Celbridge manor. I am helping with the music for the show with lots of other girls. We will be doing a mash up of some well known christmas songs even though christams is NOT FOR AGES!

We have been working on our mini companys really hard as well. My group Casevana will be selling and taking orders at the fashion show so make sure to check us out! (hehe free advertisement) Our Product is custom designed phone cases with unique accessories.

As well as that we went to Carton house last tuesday to look at some sculptures BUT the Irsh rugby team was there so of course they took our attention it was funny as were all waiting to get a picture with them but of course I didn't agh (SAD LIFE). Besides thast it was really cool to see the sculptures and to walk around the grounds and Sprint back to the bus dropping papers everywhere as I nearly missed the bus.. oops

We also had a road safety talk with the Guards so now I'm taking my unicorn to school as Im to scared to walk or get a car woop ;) But I suppose that means that the talk was beneficial...

On top of that weve been working on our play for a competition which Im really excited about as I love acting and we recently found out were working with an  organisation on a book promting The millennium development goals so we are very busy ;)

✴What does mid term, shoeboxes, a fashion show and Zombies all have in common??? ✴

This is the week before mid- term break. So as you can imagine everyone is dying for the week to end however, we have been very busy with lots of Projects. We have been working on our mini company as well.

 A representative from the organisation Team Hope came into our music class { when we were all awkwardly standing on the tiered stage } and told us about their shoe box christmas appeal. https://secure.teamhope.ie/csa  Lots of the Transition years are interested in the campain. If we want to give a shoe box we have to work on them over the midterm so they arrive in Africa in time for Christmas { which don't get me started on people already started their christmas countdown it's not even Halloween yet ;) }

Speaking of HALLOWEEN (oops the caps lock was left on) We are having a dress up day in school tomorrow our years theme is Zombies so I don't know what I'm going to wear yet. Most Monday mornings we look like Zombies anyway...

On top of all that St. Wolstans is hosting a fashion show in Celbridge Manor mid November. Lots of Tys and other years are getting involved with dancing instruments and singing. Auditions for the music for the show was held this week. We are learning how to play let it snow {another christmas reference :-/ } I hope everything goes well and I don't mess up the chords haha (throwback to 2nd yr music night) ;)
This is what I found when I looked up a non scary zombie hah

>Btw the answer to the Title is I dont know ;)  xx

✴ Funky Shoes? ✴

Last Friday was a non uniform day! This is because St Wolstans were taking part in the 'Walk in our shoes' charity.   http://www.walkinmyshoes.ie/

This is a charity about mental heath illness. The charity was estblished by St. Patricks Mental Health Service which is Irelands( largest independent not-for profit mental health service provider).  The idea is about by trying to put yourself in some elses shoes -' walk in your shoes'

We all came in to school in our own shoes and there were some funny slippers and wellingtons
and we strutted down the hallways. I think that was just me ;) anyway everyone was a great a great sport and everyone brought in 2euro and raised some money for the charity!

Fun Walk :)

On  Thursday the 2nd of October St. Wolstans had their annual Fun Walk.
Every year has a different colour and every class has to perform a dance in front of the school.
The fun walk is centred around friendship week so your theme of the dance should link to friendship or/anti bullying. Transition year was yellow so we all looked like lemons!

My class being called 'Aurora' we decided to go with the dance based around the story of sleeping beauty/Maleficant. This resulted in our tutor Mr. Kennedy Dressing up as Maleficant!
We were all faries either good or bad and we centred the dance around the faries becoming friends. We danced to wake me up by Wham and of course us being the best class in Ty we won ;) Overall the fun walk was really fun as we got to watch the other dances and turn into Simon Cowell as we judged the dances.

Then it was time for the actual walk.... My friend Emily and I played air guitar and acted weird throughout the entire walk. By the time we got backed to the school we were very thirsty and tired and it was time to WALK home AGAIN! It was a really good day and I'm looking forward to next years fun walk so we can renew our victory! :)

Pringles and Terrys chocolate orange and getting thrown into the sea!?

We went to Carlingford on the 15th of September. We got the bus at 7am so as you can imagine we weren't actally pleasesd. However, as the bus jounrey went on everyone became more awake and was getting louder and started to get more excited. When we arrived at around 9 carlingford  it was bright the sun was beaming but honestly most school days my eyes are barely open at that time and at the weekend there is no sign of life at 9am.

We got split into groups A and B and litrally after under an hour we were out at sea doing kayaking. It was actually harder than  it looked and the sticky wetsuits didn't help!
After we got back to land well the changing rooms we went and had lunch and then got ready for laser tag. We got changed into camosies (camo onsies) which is my new favourite word. We looked pretty cool with laser guns and we went up into the forest in the mountain which involved walking up a steep hill....

We played with different levels and different games like capture the flag and it was really funny when someone got ''Killed'' as their headband started flasing and 'dead man, man down' would beam out of their headband. We all though we were in the secret surface or something as were taking it very seriously!

After dinner, we had the 'nightline' which basically invloved us walking in a conga line blindfoled in the dark. It was unusal but fun. By the time everyone had got back to the room everyone was devouring the stash of food they brought with them. Ours involved chocolate and crisps and lollipops and I wouldn't try pringles and terrys chcolate orange as its a bit of an overload in the mouth is all ill say

The next day which was our last day we had breakfast and then it was back into the wetsuits again to go canoeing. It was actally a lot easier and our instructor Edel would start singing songs and splash us. We then  went up into the trampoline whuch was in the sea and jump off it was actually really and slippery besides the water in my  mouth... then as we  were making out way back one of the other instructors threw me out of the canoe into the sea along with few others so more celebration for sea water in my mouth!
Then after lunchwe went to the challenge course park and did some of the team buliding exercises. It was good it involved crawling in stones patience and mazes.Everytime a group completed  a challenge in a specific time frame they would get  two gems. My team came second!

After the team bulding challenges were over and we walked back to the center and took some photogaphs it was back on the bus for home! It was a really exciting two days and the instructors were all really nice.

Tracksuits and Heels?!

This week we had three workshops, this included a first aid workshop, a ediquette workshop and a potitive parties workshop. My class,Aurora had the first aid workshop first. The instructor used a human like mannequin to demonstarte cpr. Although we did learn a lot from his demonstration like what pace to go at and where to place your hands the noise the mannequin made when he was pushing down on the mannequins chest was very funny and how it kept deflating and inflating abruptly. In groups we had to practice putting bandages on each other and I failed putting it on my friend Ciara and she ended up looking more like a mummy then an injured person

The next workshop we had was the ediquette workshop we were told to bring in heels for this workshop. We all ended up going to the 2nd yr mall where the instructors had laidout a red carpet and we had to walk up and down balancing our journals on our head then we all put on our heels which which looked quite strange as we were all wearing our

Pe tracksuits! It must have looked really funny to the other year groups seeing us walking up and down a red carpet in our tracksuits and high heels. But, any day to wear heels in school is a good day right? After that we watched some clips on self confidence and then we all got to exfoliate our hands with these amazing smelling exfoliators I used the lemon one and it was so nice our hands were really soft afterwords!

Then finally we had the posh parties workshop we all got sweets and wore these flower necklaces like what they wear in Hawaii and did funny laughing excersies we also had a weird challenge of putting underwear on ourselves but not in the usual way ie. put it on your head. We learnt to be more postive in life.

Over all the workshops were really fun it was a good first week Ty!
